Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Journal Scope

REJOST is a transnational peer-reviewed print and online Open Access English Journal, which aims at making significant contributions in the areas of physical, biological and technological sciences. The Journal is devoted to the publication of original research (Research paper, Review paper, Short communication) covering the following fields: Physical and Mathematical Sciences comprising Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Geology, Geophysics, Environmental Sciences, Computer and Information Technology, Engineering and related branches as well as Chemical and Biological Sciences including Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmacy, Medicine, Biology, Genetics, Fisheries and related branches. Manuscript style and format

Articles should be original research work written in English in a concise and understandable manner. It is advised that authors who may want professional assistance with improving the English, or formatting in their manuscript should do so before submitting their manuscript. Manuscript should be in MS word, double-spaced on A4 (8.5" x 11") paper size with 1 inch margins. Article should be in the order:

  1. Title
  2. Abstract
  3. Keywords (4 to 6 words)
  4. Introduction
  5. Materials and Methods
  6. Results and Discussion
  7. Conclusion
  8. Conflict of Interest
  9. Acknowledgements
  10. References

Declarations

All manuscripts shall contain the following sections under the heading 'Declarations'.

Any of the sections not relevant to a manuscript shall be written 'Not applicable'

Funding

Information that explains whether and by whom the research was supported will be included

Conflicts of interest/Competing interests (include appropriate disclosures) will be needed

Availability of data and material (data transparency)

Code availability (software application or custom code)

Authors' contributions (optional: please review the submission guidelines from the journal whether statements are mandatory) shall be optional

Ethics approval (include appropriate approvals or waivers)

Consent to participate (include appropriate statements)

Consent for publication (include appropriate statements)

Title Page

The template title page must provide the following information.

  • The name(s) of the author(s)
  • A concise and informative title
  • The affiliation(s) of the author(s), i.e. institution, (department), city, (state), country
  • A clear indication and an active e-mail address of the corresponding author

If address information is provided with the affiliation(s) it will also be published.

For authors that are (temporarily) unaffiliated, their private e-mail address and their city/country of residence shall be required.

Abstract

Abstract shall not be more 300 words. The abstract shall not contain any undefined abbreviations and no references shall be required. Abstract should state in brief the introduction of the research, methodology, principal results, main findings and major conclusions.

Keywords

4 to 6 keywords separated by a ‘coma’ shall be used for indexing purposes.

Introduction

A referenced background, which sets up the work in context, is needed. The introduction/background is needed to keep a bare minimum length and relevance to the work described. It is worthwhile to state the basis, justifications and objectives of the research in the referenced research. Detailed descriptions of regular experimental procedures are not necessary here.

Materials and Methods

Authors should supply sufficient experimental details to help others to replicate the research outcomes presented. The method should be adequately furnishing information leading to the achievement of each of the objectives leading to the conceived goal or results. Where it is feasible, sustainable information can be useful for presentation of experimental details while effort is made in limiting the size of the main document. Materials and methods can be subdivided into sections if more methods are described.

Ethical consideration on use of experimental animals and human subjects

Experiments involving live animals must contain a statement of approval by an ethical committee and certify that the experiments were carried out in accord with all globally approved guidelines and regulations.  A statement of consent is required for experiments that involve humans or tissue samples; obtained in support of the work.

Results and Discussion

The authors have the leverage to combine results and discussion as a single section or presented singly. This may also be split into subsections with brief, informative headings. Authors should present their data in a comprehensible and interpretative style. Data presentation should not be duplicated. Discussion must interpret the results in relation to existing knowledge in the field with relevant current literatures. Supporting information can be used if it is worthwhile in making the results clearer. All results presented in tabular form or graphical form must be adequately explained in this section.

Presentation of NMR (Nuclear Magnetic resonance) Data

Coupling constants for protons in a 1H NMR: It is expected that coupling constants for well resolved peaks are given always. After each chemical shift, enter in parenthesis number of protons, multiplicity, coupling constants, and assignment in that order.

Chemical shift of 13C NMR: Carbon-13 NMR data should be reported to the nearest 0.1 ppm with the number of attached hydrogens designated as CH3, CH2, CH and C group.

Authors are also enjoined to present NMR data in tables. The title of the table should exactly and concisely reflect the contents of the table.

Conclusion

Authors should state their conclusions or the significance of their research outcomes in accordance with the discussion of results. Conclusions should also be summarized in the abstract in order to place the author’s research in correct perspective.

List of abbreviations

Abbreviations used in the text should be defined at its first mention.

Tables and Figures/Graphics

Figures and Tables identifying the results of the research should be placed at the end of the manuscript after the list of references. Tables and figures not showing the results of the experiment should be placed within the body of the article closed to the point where they are mentioned. All tables and figures must be referred to in the text of the paper.

Tables

  1. All tables are to be numbered using Arabic numerals.
  2. Tables should always be cited in text in consecutive numerical order.
  3. For each table, authors shall supply a table caption (title) explaining the components of the table.
  4. Identify any previously published material by giving the original source in the form of a reference at the  end of the table caption.
  5. Footnotes to tables should be indicated by superscript lower-case letters (or asterisks for significance of values and other statistical data) and included beneath the table body.
  6. Tables shall not carry vertical lines
  7. Avoid repetitions of information or components of Tables in the Discussion of Results

Figures/Graphics

Figures/graphics should provide the reader a rapid visual representation of the significant results and/or the essence of the paper without providing specific details. All figures/graphics should be submitted using the following guidelines:

  • Embedded figure or graphic files in a Word document is preferred.
  • The following file format is also accepted; TIFF, PDF, EPS (vector artwork) or CDX (ChemDraw file).
  • Chemical structures should be drawn using ChemDraw and formatted per the American Chemical Society (ACS) document settings.
  • Graphics with similar information should be of similar size.
  • All figure parts should be labeled and grouped into a single graphic.
  • Figure/graphic should be comprehensible, simple, relatively free of text and technical characters, and make use of contrasting colour for visual impact.
  • Graphic files should be consecutively numbered using Arabic numerals and should have a descriptive title and named based on graphic function (i.e. Scheme 1, Figure 2, and Chart 3).

Conflict-of-Interest Disclosure

A declaration describing any financial conflicts of interest or lack thereof is published with each manuscript. During the submission process, the corresponding author must provide this statement on behalf of all authors of the manuscript.

Acknowledgements:

Funding body and all the personnel who assisted in the work but are not qualified as an author should be properly acknowledged.

References

Citation

The APA style of referencing shall be adopted. Authors shall cite references in the text by name and year in parentheses. Some examples:

  • Negotiation research spans many disciplines (Thompson 1990).
  • This result was later contradicted by Becker and Seligman (1996).
  • This effect has been widely studied (Abbott 1991; Barakat et al. 1995a, b; Kelso and Smith 1998; Medvec et al. 1999, 2000).

Reference list

The list of references should only include works that are cited in the text and that have been published or accepted for publication. Personal communications and unpublished works should only be mentioned in the text. Do not use footnotes or endnotes as a substitute for a reference list.

Reference list entries should be alphabetized by the last names of the first author of each work. Order multi-author publications of the same first author alphabetically with respect to second, third, etc. author. Publications of exactly the same author(s) must be ordered chronologically.

Ideally, the names of all authors should be provided, and the use of “et al” in long author lists will not be accepted in the reference list.

Always use the standard abbreviation of a journal’s name according to the International Standard serial number (ISSN) List of Title Word Abbreviations.

Cover Letter

All manuscripts must be accompanied by a cover letter that contains clear and precise information about the submission, highlighting the significance of the work. Each article/manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been submitted for publication elsewhere in English or other languages.  A template can be downloaded under cover letter in the website.
